IFPUG is excited to announce there are now two levels of certification related to the Software Non-functional Assessment Process (SNAP): the new Certified SNAP Specialist (CSS) and the Certified SNAP Practitioner (CSP).
The CSS certification has been introduced as the new standard for SNAP expertise. The new designation provides verification of advanced knowledge of SNAP and an increased ability to size non-functional user software requirements. Compared to the CSP, the new CSS designation is more advanced and displays the highest subject matter expertise.
We are thrilled to see the ongoing growth of SNAP methods in the function point community because it will help IT organizations better size and estimate the non-functional requirements that cannot be sized using function points. This enables organizations to develop more accurate estimates for software projects as well as providing ability to better measure software related metrics.

The CSS designation indicates that the accredited individual, by passing a rigorous exam and achieving a score of 90% or better, has displayed the fundamentals of SNAP at a significant depth. For more information, visit https://ifpug.org/certification/snap.
